FLEX starts innovative project with Enable 3D Automotive accessories from a 3D printer

Automotive accessories

Steinheim, May 2023 – Manufacturing accessories for the automotive sector quickly and sustainably by 3D printing: That’s now possible thanks to a pioneering partnership between FLEX-Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH and Enable 3D. The successful start-up is developing innovative designs that users can 3D-print directly. FLEX provides the appropriate and optimised 3D data free of charge. The first of these are wall brackets for polishing equipment and automotive batteries, for example for car workshops or painting companies.

FLEX provides the wall bracket data free of charge at www.3dprint-flextools.com. Companies or private users can either download the data themselves and produce the bracket on their own 3D printer, or commission a service provider to print it. A community printing service is also available through www.enable-3d.com, taking on paid printing jobs.

"FLEX is the first power tools manufacturer to implement this innovative and sustainable concept in collaboration with Enable 3D. 100 percent reusable monomaterials are utilised, thus making a valuable contribution to the environmentally-friendly circular economy. Transport and waste are also minimised", explains Oliver Gnann-Geiger, Head of Marketing at FLEX. FLEX and Enable 3D are already planning further products.
