Power and run time booster
Steinheim, August 2022 – The large selection of cordless tools in the FLEX-Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH range has been given a booster to deliver even more power and longer run times. This manufacturer's 18.0V 8.0 Ah battery will be in dealers' sales outlets from mid October onwards. Therma-TechTM technology forms the basis of these innovative batteries. Unlike with other manufacturers, this technology uses phase change material that maintains an optimum cell temperature inside the batteries. This means that the new FLEX 18.0 V batteries achieve around 25 per cent longer run times than comparable batteries from other manufacturers.
The new 18.0V 8.0 Ah battery can be used for the entire range of FLEX cordless tools. "Compared with 18.0V 5.0 Ah batteries, our 8.0 AH batteries deliver up to 75 per cent more power and up to 60 per cent longer run times for a very good price-performance ratio," explains Jannik Rohling from FLEX's product management.
FLEX Therma-TechTM
The phase change material used in all FLEX 18.0 V batteries absorbs the heat generated during use, ensuring longer battery run times and life cycles. Another advantage of the sophisticated FLEX battery technology is the Keep Control System for continuous data synchronisation between battery and tool. This involves the intelligent battery systematically collecting all the relevant operating data such as voltage, temperature and discharge current, and sending it to the tool in real time. At the same time, FLEX cordless tools have self-protection that optimally interacts with the data received. The integrated algorithm optimises battery power and tool performance while also delivering added system safety. These FLEX 18.0 V batteries thus enable users to benefit from optimum cordless tool performance and reliable battery pack protection.
