With the new CSM 57 18-EC, FLEX Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH is launching a compact and powerful metal circular saw that is tailored to the requirements of professionals in metal construction, metalworking, installation and assembly work. The cordless saw enables precise and clean cuts in metal plates, pipes, profiles and sheet metal – low sparking, efficient and ergonomic.

With high-performance 150 mm stainless steel saw blade for continuous use

The CSM 57 18-EC is designed for continuous professional use: With a high-performance 150 mm saw blade and a powerful EC motor, it cuts materials with a cutting depth of up to 57 mm. The compatible 18-volt battery platform in conjunction with an 8.0 Ah battery allows all-day use without changing the battery.

Metalworking influencer and locksmith Florian Beck (762Schlosserbande) has already tested the saw extensively in practice: "I'm really enthusiastic about the machine. I've now been really punishing a prototype, which I was allowed to test in advance, for three quarters of a year and I'm amazed at what the machine can do. I use it every week and it makes my work so much easier. It is so extremely handy without a cable: I grab the thing and quickly cut the metal sheets right next to me."

Clear benefits in day-to-day work

The CSM 57 18-EC enables low-spark work and produces less heat than an angle grinder. This makes it particularly suitable for working indoors or in sensitive environments. Thanks to compatibility with the guide rail and parallel stop, dimensionally accurate and repeatable cuts are possible without any problems – a plus for series production and assembly applications. Metalworker Flo Beck finds the precision particularly impressive: "What I particularly like about it is that you can use it with the guide rail, so you can make extremely precise cuts."

Sophisticated ergonomics and great safety

The machine offers an ergonomically shaped grip with soft inserts and an offset additional handle, which allows a clear view of the cutting line. Other clever features include an additional handle that can be unscrewed, a swarf collection container secured with metal panelling, a fold-out hook for hanging and an integrated tool holder for the Allen key for quick and easy saw blade changes. The closed design also increases safety when working, as the risk of injury is significantly reduced compared to open cutting discs.

Practical experience confirms long-term use

Despite intensive use, the service life is impressive: "At first I was a little worried about whether the saw blade could really take it. But it can do it! I actually still have the first saw blade on the sample machine – it's been three quarters of a year!" says Beck.
