NEW: 10.8 volts become 12 volts - Name update at FLEX

Product news

Steinheim, August 2024 - New name, same voltage: FLEX-Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH is updating the product names of its battery range. Instead of the previous 10.8 volts (nominal voltage), the internationally-used standard 12 volts (open-circuit voltage) will now lend its name to the product series. Nothing will change for the customer, only the product name will be adapted.

Most importantly for customers: The compatibility of all devices is maintained. All previous 10.8-volt tools are compatible with the complete 12-volt range. All current 10.8-volt cordless tools, batteries and chargers can also continue to be used and therefore benefit from compatibility with the new 12 volt battery series.

Background to the updated product designation: The previous specification of 10.8 volts only referred to the so-called nominal voltage; the new 12-volt designation now indicates the open-circuit voltage, which corresponds to the international standard. This will enable FLEX-Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH to ensure greater transparency and international product comparability.

New product designation - full compatibility

This means that there are no disadvantages to changing the product names from 10.8 volts to 12 volts. Customers will continue to benefit from a long battery life, compact tools and the compatibility of the tool within the respective volt class.
